UPDATE: 3:20 p.m.
A wildfire south of Penticton in the Shatford Creek area has grown to .5 hectares.
BC Wildfire has assigned resources to the blaze. Apex Volunteer Fire Rescue is coordinating with BCWS in responding to the fire.
Air resources have been deployed due to the difficult terrain.
In a post to social media, the Apex fire department said there was not currently a risk to the Apex community.
The fire is in difficult terrain, and they will be coordinating safe crew access. At this time there is no threat to the Apex community

An out of control wildfire is being reported near Apex Mountain Road in the Shatford Creek area, south of Penticton.
The blaze was first reported Monday, June 16 and is an estimated .24 hectares.
According to BC Wildfire the blaze is suspected to be lightning caused.
There are currently no area restrictions or evacuations associated with this fire.
