It was another well-attended year for the Hope Secondary Carnival on June 24.
Hope Secondary School's Leadership students were all on deck as over 300 people tried their hand at the carnival games and placed bids in the silent auction.
"The ninth annual Hope Secondary Carnival was incredible and we are so grateful to every community member, student, and friend, who came out," said teacher Lenora Poulin, via social media. "The Leadership students were exhausted, but so full of gratitude, by the end of it. Thank you!"
Eighteen games were available this year. This included returning favourites like the cake walk, jousting, balloon darts, basketball toss, the duck pond, and ring toss. The carnival also introduced punch-a-cup as a new game for people to play.
Many of the games cost tickets and those who played had the chance to win some fun mini prizes.
For those who needed a break from the games, attendees were able to get their face painted and eat popcorn, cotton candy, and hotdogs. People were also able to get their hands decorated with fancy patterns at the henna station.
The haunted house made its return much to the delight of many parents and kids; throughout the carnival, a long line could be seen outside the attraction as people patiently for their chance to get spooked.
The school is also thankful to all the local businesses and organizations that donated items for this year’s silent auction.
