A large thunderstorm on Wednesday night caused trees and debris to be strewn on Highway 6 near Cherryville.

A large thunderstorm on Wednesday (Sept. 25) night caused a slowdown on Highway 6 due to strewn trees and debris.

The debris was spot by drivers on the highway between North Fork Road and Snowshoe Road for 40 kilometres, which is one km east of the Monashee Summit to Cherryville. 

Roads are open, but drivers are encouraged to use extreme caution.

Crews are currently clearing debris, so watch for workers throughout the 40 km section.
