Singer Cameron Whitcomb performing at a sold out concert on July 5

The venue changed from indoors to outdoors due to high demand

Nanaimo born singer Cameron Whitcomb will be bringing his Hundred Mile High Tour to Port Alberni on July 5.

The concert was originally supposed to be 800 tickets and indoors: that sold out in 90 minutes, forcing Five Acre Co. to add more capacity by moving the concert outdoors at the KCC (4090 Hollywood St.), at the Alberni District Fall Fair Grounds.

This show has become the largest in Five Acre Co's company history, with 2,400 tickets sold.

"We originally planned for an intimate indoor show with 800 people and it sold out in just 90 minutes," said Lance Goddard, founder of Five Acre Co.

The company decided to change venues and sell another 800 tickets, which sold out in two hours. They added even more tickets after that.

"We never anticipated this level of excitement, but we're thrilled to see it," Goddard added.

The outdoor concert is open to all-ages, however, all minors under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Attendees are encouraged to come early. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. with the concert beginning at 7 p.m.

Whitcomb began releasing music in 2023. He wowed crowds last September at Tyee Landing as part of the Port Alberni Salmon Festival entertainment.

He will also be performing at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver on July 17.
