To the Editor,

Once again, off-leash dogs on Kitsuksis Dyke and throughout the city are becoming a problem. People still are not getting it: once your dog leaves your property, you are liable for them.

Maybe city council should get together with an animal control bylaw officer and certify people, like Speed Watch, give them ticket books and have them take photos of the offenders. The city would make thousands.

Many signs say "all dogs must be on leash"; obviously some people can't or won't read them. And for those that travel with their dogs off-leash on our beautiful trails, read the small print that says your dog must have a recall (you must be able to call your dog back) and/ or be on a leash. Those of us following the rules should be able to defend ourselves and our own dogs to stay safe.

So dog owners, please be responsible for yourself and your dog.
