2 arrested after wielding handguns in home invasion south of Quesnel

The two men who were charged with several offences are Eric Joseph Heidemann and Jerry Douglas Clement, Mounties say

Quesnel RCMP arrested two men in relation to a home invasion where a gun was fired.

On Feb. 23 at around 1:28 p.m., Mounties responded to a report of a home invasion at a rural property 10 km south of Quesnel on West Fraser Road, RCMP said in a news release.

Two men with handguns entered the residence, threatened and assaulted the victim. Mounties said the suspects and victim were known to each other. A gun was fire inside the residence during the home invasion. The shot did not hit the victim, who sustained other injuries.

The two men who were arrested were identified by Mounties as 35-year-old Eric Joseph Heidemann and 58-year-old Jerry Douglas Clement.

Both men are in custody and have been charged with offences including: pointing a firearm, possessing a handgun for a dangerous purpose, forcible confinement, assault and uttering threats, as well as other firearms offences.
