Quesnel RCMP arrested one of two suspected of a home invasion after executing a search warrant of a residence in the 400 block of North Fraser Drive.

The home invasion took place Jan. 12 at around 2:10 a.m in the 300 block of Hoy Street.

Mounties say two people broke into a residence, used bear spray on a victim and damaged items within the house. Mounties identified the suspects as a 26-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman. RCMP were told the man had a handgun during the incident.

Mounties then searched the residence of the suspects with the help of the North District Emergency Response Team. They arrested the woman, but were unable to locate the man.

The woman has since been released, pending a future court date.

A search warrant was executed at the residence of two suspects in relation to a home invasion.

"The suspects and victims were known to each other," said Sgt. Clay Kronebusch. "The outstanding suspect is known to police."
