July 4 to Aug. 8 • Chilliwack comedian Cliff Prang, in partnership with Yuk Yuk’s, will be hosting the Chilliwack Outdoor Comedy Series at Elements Casino on July 4, July 18 and Aug. 8. The headliners are Dino Archie on July 4, Ola Dada on July 18, and Patrick Maliha on Aug. 8. Prang and other local comics will also be performing. These are 19+ shows. July 5, 2025 • The all-ages Controlled Chaos Music Festival is Saturday, July 5 at the Chilliwack Coliseum starting at 2 p.m. Bands include: Big Duke Sorrow, The Bobby's, Cows Go Moo, Whitey, Tayos, The Unbranded, Strawberry Blondes and The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets. The event also includes: on-site tattooing, food and drinks, a local artist/vendor market, skateboarding ramps and demos, and a kids' zone with games, face painting and more. July 5, 2025 • The Fraser Valley Thrift Market is July 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Chilliwack Heritage Park. This indoor garage sale also has a vintage and collectibles section.

July 5, 2025 • The Greyhaven Exotic Bird Sanctuary will be at the Chilliwack Library on Saturday, July 5 from 11 a.m.to  11:45 a.m. Ever wanted to see a live quaker parrot or blue-and-gold macaw? This presentation will allow people of all ages to see avian friends and hear how they were rescued. Greyhaven Exotic Bird Sanctuary is a non-profit rescue and protection for parrots and other birds. This is a drop-in event.

July 5, 2025 • It's Lavender Days at Ryder Lake Farms (49388 Elk View Rd.) on Saturday, July 5 from 9 a.m. to noon. Hosted by Soiul Wellness, people can relax and enjoy vibrant lavender fields in full bloom and breathtaking views. This is an all-ages event. Tickets available at eventbrite.com.

July 7 to Aug. 22, 2025 • Learn to Sail on Cultus Lake this summer with the Cultus Lake Sailing Club. Children, youth and adult programs available from July 7 to Aug. 22. The courses are a combination of dry land instruction and water-based training and cover the principles of sailing as well as basic water safety and righting of capsized boats. July 7 to 11, 2025 • Teenagers can learn about molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, genomics and more at Geneskool July 7 to 11. This summer camp will take place at the University of the Fraser Valley's Chilliwack Campus and is open to kids entering Grades 9 to 12. Cost is $350. July 7 to July 31, 2025 • The Sardis Library is hosting Storytime in Watson Glen Park throughout July from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Themes: Monday, July 7 - Dino Storytime and Dig; Monday, July 14 - Teddy Bear Picnic; Monday, July 21 - Bug Hunt and Craft; Thursday, July 31 - Ocean Storytime and Craft. These are drop-in events. In the event of extreme weather this event will be moved inside the library. 

July 9, 2025 • The 'Summer Reading Club Drop-In for Teens' event is at the Chilliwack Library on Wednesday, July 9 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. This is open to teens aged 13 to 18 and there will be pizza and prize giveaways - with zero expectations. Drop by the teen area, grab a slice, and enter to win a gift card and other cool stuff just for showing up. Sign up for Summer Reading Club and get a goodie bag, try a laid-back summer activity or do absolutely nothing.

July 10 to Aug. 21, 2025 • Summertime in Salish: Storytimes in the Park runs throughout the summer on Thursdays in Salish Park, behind the Chilliwack Library. It begins with a story time from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by a special guest from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Schedule: July 10 - Circus Lab; July 17 - West Coast Exotics; July 24 - Penny Pom Pom; July 31 - Puppet Show with Elspeth; Aug. 7 - Robin Layne: Journey into Rhythm; Aug. 14 - Andy the Musical Scientist; Aug 21 - Craftapalooza.

July 11 to 13, 2025 • The Chilliwack Men's Open Golf Tournament is at Chilliwack Golf Club (41894 Yale Rd. W.) from July 11 to 13, and the public is welcome to watch for free. It is B.C.'s longest-running amateur golf tournament and it brings together top amateur and professional golfers from across the province. The tournament includes a shootout on Friday, July 11 with the tournament itself running Saturday and Sunday with tee times starting at 7 a.m. To play in the tournament, folks can sign up at chilliwackgolf.com/golf/#golf-events.

July 11, 2025 • Skwah Pride is on Friday, July 11 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 30 Landing Dr. This annual event includes performers, artists, food vendors, and community partners.

July 12, 2025 • Head to the Sardis Library for its Rock Painting event on Saturday, July 12 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Bring two rocks with the shape and potential to become a 3D conversation piece for your home or garden. All other supplies will be provided. For kids ages seven and up. Online registration required.

July 12 to 13, 2025 • MS Bike - Chilliwack, a fundraiser event to support people affected by multiple sclerosis is rolling through Chilliwack for the first time on July 12 and 13, starting and finishing at Chilliwack Heritage Park. The route lengths are 30 kilometres, 60 kilometres and 100 kilometres on Saturday, July 12, and 40 kilometres on Sunday, July 13. July 13, 2025 • The 2025 Chilliwack Pride Festival returns to downtown Chilliwack on Sunday, July 13. It runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and takes place at Central Community Park and the surrounding streets. People can expect live entertainment, vendors and service booths, a kids' zone with games and activities, as well as food trucks.

July 15, 2025 • The Chilliwack Library is inviting folks to celebrate Canadian National Parks Day with a peaceful, guided forest-bathing walk at Chilliwack Community Forest on Tuesday, July 15 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Forest bathing is designed to reduce stress and boost well-being through mindful connection with nature. No hiking experience needed; participants will move slowly and tune into the sights, sounds, and textures of the forest. After the session, people can take in a short, nature-themed family story time under the trees. To enhance the experience, consider borrowing a nature pack from the library beforehand to bring along. While this is an off-leash dog trail, people are asked to leave dogs at home for this program to maintain a calm, focused atmosphere. Online registration required at fvrl.bc.ca/events. July 16, 2025 • Head to the Sardis Library for event 'Karima Essa: Bollywood Star Dance and Workshop' on Wednesday, July 16 from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. In her trademark charming and humorous style, award-winning Bollywood dancer and choreographer Karima Essa showcases Bollywood dance as a fun cultural art form by opening with an electrifying dance in full regalia. She'll then lead a fun and engaging dance workshop to inspire people of all ages and abilities to get up and dance along with her. People will learn the basic elements of Bollywood dance, including signature neck and head movements, facial expressions and foot and hand movements, to current Bollywood hits, while using props such as scarves.

July 16, 2025 • The Chilliwack Library is hosting 'Art Night: Needle Felted Brooch' on Wednesday, July 16 from 6 p.m.to 7:30 p.m. Create a handmade brooch using the art of needle felting! In this hands-on workshop, library staff will provide all supplies and guide you step-by-step through the process. Please note: Needle felting involves sharp tools and requires careful handling. For ages 19 and older. Online registration is required at fvrl.bc.ca/events.

July 17 and Aug. 21, 2025 • The Summer Book Lovers Club is at the Chilliwack Library on Thursday, July 17 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Thursday, Aug. 21 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Chill out this summer with other book lovers to chat about books you're reading and books you love. There will be casual guided discussions as people share book recommendations, book reviews, and more. Feel free to bring some favourite books along. Refreshments will be provided. This is a drop-in event and is open to those 19 and older. 

July 17, 2025 • Sardis Library presents 'Build a Gnome Home' on Thursday, July 17 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Create a cozy, whimsical gnome house using a variety of fun materials – all supplies provided. Ideal for ages five and up; children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult helper. Registration required at fvrl.bc.ca/events.

July 19, 2025 • Chilliwack Secondary School's graduating class of 1985 is having its 40th high school reunion on Saturday, July 19. This free event is at Elements Casino Chilliwack on the back patio from 5 p.m. until closing.

July 19, 2025 • Laura Louis with Creative Memories presents scrapbooking event 'Oh! What a Memory!' on Saturday, July 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Landing Sports Centre. People are asked to bring their own supplies and lunch, and to come dressed in a Christmas outfit as they will be celebrating Christmas in July. Louis will be teaching a class during this event. The cost is $40 and payment can be e-transferred to lauramvlouis@gmail.com, or contact her to arrange payment. Payment must be made by Wednesday, July 16. July 19, 2025 • The Barn Burner BBQ and Car Show returns to Fraser Valley Specialty Poultry | The Farm Store (4540 Simmons Rd.) on July 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Barbecue vendors will be dishing up a huge feast for the whole family. There's also live music and a kids' zone. Entry is $10 per person, free admission for kids under 12.

July 21, 2025 • The Atchelitz Threshermen's Association is having an open house and member drive where folks can check out the pioneer village and farm museum on Monday, June 21 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. More volunteers are needed to help run the museum, the kitchen during events, and other all-round help around the site. They are located at 44146 Luckakuck Way, beside Chilliwack Heritage Park. For more, go to atchelitz.ca/home.

July 24, 2025 • The Sardis Library is hosting Great Blue Heron Reserve Storytime on Thursday, July 24 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 5200 Sumas Prairie Rd. Little ones will be treated to a storytime by Sardis Library staff, followed by a guided tour of the reserve. Online registration required at fvrl.bc.ca/events.

July 25 to 27, 2025 • The third annual Chilliwack Ribfest returns to Vedder Park on July 25 to 27. Highlights include championship rib vendors, live music, craft beer, and a community marketplace. For more info, go to chilliwackribfest.ca.

July 26, 2025 • Abbotsford author Christopher O’Halloran will be having a book signing event at The Book Man with his novel Pushing Daisy on Saturday, July 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will include raffles, signed copies, and snacks, welcoming readers of horror and literary fiction alike.

July 27, 2025 • The 6th annual Bannister Chrysler Car Show is Sunday, July 27 from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at 45730 Hocking Ave. The day will be packed with vintage and classic cars, live entertainment, food trucks, family fun and more. People can register their vehicle (all makes and models are welcome) for a $25 donation, and all proceeds go to Little Heroes Hockey Academy. July 28, 2025 • Juno-nominated performing percussionist and educator Robin Layne is at the Sardis Library on Monday, July 28 from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. In this interactive and high-energy musical show designed for young audiences, kids get to join the band and learn how to keep a beat while making music on marimbas and percussion. It features the marimba, the big cousin to the xylophone, and takes kids on a journey around the globe, as it follows Layne on his travels to Cuba, West Africa, Mexico and Colombia. This program is for all ages. Online registration required.

Aug. 8 to 10, 2025 • The 153rd annual Chilliwack Fair returns to Chilliwack Heritage Park from Friday, Aug. 8 to Sunday, Aug. 10. Canadian-American country singer-songwriter Aaron Goodvin performs on Aug. 8 around 9 p.m. For more, go to chilliwackfair.com.

Aug. 9, 2025 • Operation Little Black Dress, a hiking event where women climb a mountain together to raise money for Chilliwack Search and Rescue, is at Qoqó:lem trail in Sardis on Saturday, Aug. 9 at 9 a.m. Once the hikers reach the summit, they change into in a black dress and fancy shoes and then take a group photo, often with a celebratory drink in hand. To participate, hikers make a donation to Chilliwack Search and Rescue. Aug. 15 and 16, 2025 • Downtown Chilliwack will turn into a street party when the annual Chilliwack Mural Festival returns to Mill Street and District 1881 on Aug. 15 and 16. The public art event will see new work by 10 muralists this year in these areas, plus in Sardis. The festival includes live music, performances, art, food and more. Aug. 16, 2025 • The second annual Cedarbrook Day, a summer festival returns on Saturday, Aug. 16 at Cedarbrook Park (45434 Willowstream Rd.). There will be food trucks, live music, vendors, a kids' zone, and a beer garden. This free event runs from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Aug. 17, 2025 • Flight Fest, Chilliwack's annual free air show, returns on Sunday, Aug. 17 at the Chilliwack Airport. Gates open at 11 a.m. and flying starts at 1 p.m. The day includes aerial performances, static aircraft displays, and family entertainment. For more, go to chilliwackairshow.ca.

Aug. 17, 2025 • The Botanica Sunflower Festival returns to Chilliwack on Aug. 17 at 41310 Royalwood Dr. and runs through September. For more, including ticket sales, go to botanicaflowerfestival.com/sunflower-festival.

Aug. 20, 2025 • Chilliwack Hospital Auxiliary is hosting a concert fundraiser to raise money for hospital equipment. The event, featuring Steve Elliott's tribute to Elvis, is on Aug. 20 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Salvation Army Church (46420 Brooks Ave.). Sept. 6, 2025 • The 35th annual SuperWalk, a fundraiser for Parkinson Society BC, is Sept. 6 at the Landing Sports Centre (45530 Spadina Ave.). Sept. 13, 2025 • Highway Star, a Deep Purple tribute band, is at Corky's Irish Pub on Sept. 13 at 8 p.m. Opening performance by Chilliwack band Sanctuary X. Tickets $15 in advance, $20 at the door. For more, including ticket purchasing, go to portmoodyjamz.ca.

Sept. 20 and 21, 2025 • The Stinking Rose Garlic Festival returns to Fantasy Farms (9423 Gibson Rd.) on Sept. 20 and 21. This festival includes garlic farmers showcasing their harvest, and food vendors providing an assortment of garlic-based treats. There will also be fun and games for the whole family, and a garlic pancake breakfast on Sunday. Early bird weekend passes are $10 per person, or $25 for a family of four (two adults, two children under 18). On Saturday night, starting 6 p.m. is the 2025 Stinking Rose Concert featuring four acts at an early bird price of $25 (the concert pass gives you access to both days of the festival). Sept. 25, 2025 • Beyond the Sky: An Intimate Evening with Chris Hadfield is coming to the Chilliwack Cultural Centre on Sept. 25 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $135 for tier 1, $100 for tier 2, and $75 for tier 3, and can be purchased at the Centre Box Office, online at chilliwackculturalcentre.ca, or by calling 604-391-SHOW(7469).

Oct. 3, 2025 • Feelin' Alright, a Joe Cocker tribute band, is at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre on Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $45 and can be purchased at the Centre Box Office, online at chilliwackculturalcentre.ca, or by calling 604-391-SHOW(7469).

Nov. 1, 2025 • The Chilliwack Grand Christmas Market presented by Local Harmony Markets is on Nov. 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Evergreen Hall. Free tickets at https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/1204497647889.

Nov. 7 to 9, 2025 • The 11th annual Christmas Market runs Nov. 7 to 9 at the Landing Sports Centre (45530 Spadina Ave.). The event showcases Fraser Valley home-based businesses and features handmade items, home decor, fashion, ceramics, sweet and treats, beauty and more. There will also be food trucks on site, and door prizes to be won with proceeds going to a local charity. CURRENT EVENTS:

NOW to July 26, 2025 • A three-in-one art show is on display at the Odlum Brown Art Gallery in the Chilliwack Cultural Centre from June 25 to July 26. Fraser Valley Woodturners Guild presents '12 Turners', while the Fibre Art Network brings two shows 'Narrow Works' and 'I Am…' to the gallery. The opening reception is set for Saturday, June 28 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Gallery hours are noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday to Saturday. Admission is free.

NOW to August, 2025 • The Chilliwack Crusaders Rugby Club is launching a free U18 youth program for boys and girls. It is open to teens aged 15 to 17 and it runs every Wednesday evening at Sardis Secondary School from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. starting on May 21 and throughout the summer. There is no cost to join. NOW to August, 2025 • The Artisan and Farm Market is every Wednesday night (May 7 to August) from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Sardis Park. There are more than 24 local vendors selling fresh produce, baked goods, handmade soap, clothing, crafts, and more. There's also food trucks and live entertainment.

NOW to Aug. 29, 2025 • The Yarrow Farm Market runs every Friday night (May 23 to Aug. 29) from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Yarrow Pioneer Park.

NOW to Aug. 31, 2025 • Sts'ailes carver Lek'hoosh Arnie Leon has his work on display in The Mystical Eagle Carving Exhibit in the lobby of the Chilliwack Cultural Centre (9201 Courbold St.). The show will feature his wood carvings as well as Noelani Leon's painting and drawings, totalling 45 pieces on display. The exhibit goes until Aug. 31.

NOW to September, 2025 • Sign up for the Summer Reading Club, hosted by the Fraser Valley Regional Library. It's open to people of all ages, and everyone has a chance to win weekly and monthly prizes. NOW to Oct. 4, 2025 • The Downtown Chilliwack Community Market returns to Chilliwack on Saturday, May 24. This year the market will be at a new location – Central Community Park – and will run every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. until Oct. 4.

NOW to Oct. 7, 2025 • Ready to shop local? Market at the Coliseum runs every Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. until Oct. 7. The market features local growers, artisans, food and music, and is located at the corner of Hodgins Avenue and Ashwell Road (in the parking lot of the Chilliwack Coliseum). Vendors can apply by emailing coastvalleymarkets@gmail.com for information.

NOW to November 2025 • The Atchelitz Thresherman's Association Pioneer Village and Farm Museum (44146 Luckakuck Way) is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. most Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays until November. For more, go to atchelitz.ca/home. Entrance is by donation.

ONGOING EVENTS:

Every Friday evening • Chilliwack Grapplers Wrestling, along with Chilliwack Community Services, is offering free drop-in wrestling for youth every Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Chilliwack Landing Sports Centre on the second floor (45530 Spadina Ave.). It is led by 2008 Olympic Coach Americo Pena. No previous experience required. For ages 9 to 17. It includes games, snacks and wrestling. For more: infocgwa@gmail.com, or 604-997-5758.

The Chilliwack Chess Club meets twice a week where chess aficionados can connect, learn, and engage in friendly matches. It is open to everyone from beginners to grand masters. They meet Fridays from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Starbucks across from Real Canadian Superstore (45750 Luckakuck Way) and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Salvation Army Church on Brooks Avenue.

First Saturday of each month • Very Very Improv Theatre, a professional company based in the Fraser Valley, has monthly performances at CoWork Chilliwack. Scott Campbell is leading a company of talented improvisers from across the Lower Mainland including Chilliwack-based comedian Cliff Prang. The shows happen on the first Saturday of every month at CoWork Chilliwack. Tickets for all performances are available at veryveryimprov.ca/tickets.

Every Tuesday night • Corky’s Irish Pub wants you to come be a rock star as they host karaoke every Tuesday night.

Every Wednesday morning • TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) 1303 Chilliwack meets Wednesday mornings at the Lynnwood Retirement Residence at 9168 Corbould St. Weigh-in is at 8:15 a.m. followed by a meeting from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. For information call 604-316-5202 or e-mail alees45@hotmail.com.

Second Thursday of each month • The Fraser Valley Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry Association is actively searching for serving, non-serving, family members or any other personnel who have served in any function with the Patricias to join them every second Thursday of each month at 11:30 a.m. at the Chilliwack-Vedder Legion Branch 295 (5661 Vedder Rd.). Last Friday of every month • NOTE: There will be no spaghetti dinner for the months of May to August, 2025; this event will resume in September. The Mount Cheam Lions hosts a spaghetti dinner on the last Friday of every month at the Lions Club (45580 Spadina Ave.). The cost is $10 and includes spaghetti, garlic toast, tea or coffee, and dessert. It goes from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Gamblers Anonymous • Has gambling taken over your life or the life of someone you know? Gamblers Anonymous can help take back your life. Phone 1-855-222-5542 to speak to someone now. Gamblers Anonymous is a non-profit fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength, and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from a Gambling Problem.

Gam-Anon family groups • Is someone else's gambling affecting your life? Gam-Anon can help. They offer hope and help when a loved one has a gambling problem. Family and friends are welcomed whether or not the gambler seeks help or even recognizes the existence of a gambling problem.
