The Vancouver Canucks have added between the pipes to start the second day of the 2025 NHL Entry Draft on Saturday, June 28.

With the 47th overall selection, the Canucks picked goaltender Alekei Medvedev.

The 2007-born Vaughan, Ont. native went 22-8-2 for the 2025 Memorial Cup champion London Knights, recording three shutouts, a 2.79 goals against average, and a .912 save percentage.

As the day went on, the Canucks also had selections in the third (65), fifth (143), sixth (175), seventh (207) rounds.

In the third round, with the 65th overall pick, the Canucks selected centre Kieren Dervin from the Kingston Frontenacs of the Ontario Hockey League. He made his debut in the OHL last year, recording a goal and two assists in 10 games played.

Next, the franchise went to a familiar place as they picked Wilson Bjorck with the 143rd overall selection. Last season, playing in the Swedish Junior League for Djurgardens Jr., he scored 28 goals and added 39 assists, totalling 67 points in just 43 games played. He was a +31 on the ice and also played with some grit as he has 98 penalty minutes. In last year's playoffs, he was a point per game player.

In the sixth round, the Canucks selected a player with an NHL connection in Brampton Steelheads (OHL) forward Gabriel Chiarot. His cousin is Detriot Red Wings defenceman Ben Chiarot. After collecting just 10 points in 48 games in the 2023-24 campaign, the winger took a step up last season, potting 21 goals and finishing with 35 points in 66 games for Brampton.

With its last pick of the draft, the Canucks took United Stated Hockey League (USHL) forward Matthew Lansing. Last season, he split time between the Waterloo Black Hawks and the Fargo Force, recording 27 points (12 goals, 15 assists) in 54 games played.

On Friday night, the Canucks selected Braeden Cootes in the first round of the draft (15th overall).

Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin made no trades throughout the draft.
