Luka Quimette, formerly with the Brisbane Lightning of the Australian Ice Hockey League last season, will be joining the Oceanside Generals this coming Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League season.

The Oceanside Generals have signed more players for the 2025-26 Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League season.

Among those who decided to commit to the Generals is defencemen Luka Ouimette, from Brisbane, Australia.

This will be Quimette's first time in Canada after playing for the Brisbane Lightning of the Australian Ice Hockey League last season. He will be the second Australian to compete for the Generals, following defenceman Ethan Hawes, a member of the team that won VIJHL championships in 2022 and 2023.

The Generals also snagged another blue-liner, Kieran McMillan, from Kamloops. He played 35 games this past season with the Thompson Blazers U18 AAA club,  where he recorded 11 points with two goals and nine assists.

The last line of defence for the Generals will also have Parksville product Ethan Suhr, who last season was the goalie for the North Shore Warriors U17 in the CSSHL Prep League.

Also joining the defence for the Generals is Brody Park. The six-foot-one, Nanaimo-born player saw action in the VIJHL last season with the Lake Cowichan Kraken where played 22 games.

The Generals offence will have Ryder Bradford, a six-foot-one forward who brings size and skill (15 points in 19 games last season with the Assiniboia Southern Rebels of the PJHL).

The Generals also traded the playing rights of Rylan Clark to Port Alberni Bombers Hockey Club for future considerations
