Spallumcheen hosting FireSmart neighbourhood block parties

FireSmart and the Township of Spallumcheen will be hosting four FireSmart sessions to educate residents on the program.

There will be four opportunities to learn more about the FireSmart program in Spallumcheen this summer. 

Dubbed the Neighbourhood Block Parties, the events will offer free food, prizes, and hands-on education.

“The safety and preparedness of our residents remain a top priority for Council,” said Spallumcheen Mayor Christine Fraser. “Through the FireSmart program, Marc and Alexis will provide education, resources, and direct support to homeowners and neighbourhoods at risk of wildfire. Council is committed to ensuring long-term wildfire resiliency in our community.”

Sessions will be held:

  • Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1- 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at McLeod Park with a BBQ by Kin Club.
  • Saturday, June 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Swanson Mountain Road with a BBQ by Kin Club.
  • Sunday, June 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Caravan Farm Theatre with a BBQ from the Theatre.
