The entrance of West Fraser Timber Park is getting upgraded.

A social media post by the City of Quesnel on Tuesday, July 8 stated the park sign and arbour is being removed and replaced due to deterioration.

The city's manager of economic development and tourism Amy Reid confirmed to Black Press Media that the sign is being removed in July and will be replaced by a new one in September. The new sign will follow the same design as the existing one.

The new sign is a collaborative effort by the city and West Fraser, Reid also confirmed. West Fraser is providing the wood and custom milling for the project.

In addition, the city has budgeted $50,000 for the sign "but hopes to complete the project under that amount."
