Details remain scarce the morning after a major police incident in Agassiz on Thursday, June 19.
At about 8 p.m., the RCMP responded to reports of shots fired at a resident at the 1500 block of the Agassiz-Rosedale Highway (Highway 9). The Emergency Response Team was also deployed to the scene.
Witnesses reported as many as 10 shots being fired and glass breaking as up to 15 RCMP vehicles may have been on the scene. Two hours into the incident, an air ambulance was dispatched and the Agassiz Fire Department set up a landing zone nearby.
