Nearly $550K requested for Quesnel hospital, nursing home

Both motions were carried on Friday, July 11 and will be brought forward to the board in August

Requests for funds to support two Quesnel health care facilities is moving to the next step.

In the Cariboo Chilcotin Regional Hospital District (CCRHD) meeting on Friday, July 11, Northern Health (NH) requested funding for GR Baker Memorial Hospital and the Dunrovin Park Lodge senior care facility.

In the agenda, it is outlined NH is requesting $248,400 to replace circuit breakers at the hospital. Additionally, $297,200 was requested to replace the nurse's call centre at senior care facility.

Both items reflect the 40 per cent of the cost for CCRHD. 

At Friday's meeting, both requests were carried, meaning they were approved and the necessary bylaw be brought forward to the board at the next meeting on Aug. 15, for consideration of three readings and adoption.
