RAN's recovery program expansion in downtown Chilliwack will increase capacity from eight to 14 beds in the women's program.

Ruth & Naomi’s Mission is expanding its addiction recovery program for women with a new facility downtown.

“This move will significantly enhance our ability to serve women in need within our community,” said RAN executive director Scott Gaglardi.

RAN’s entire women’s recovery program is being moved from their Family Centre to the new Sparrow House location on Maple Avenue, which will undergo renovations

Described as a “dedicated, welcoming environment” exclusively for women, the plan is creating "a greater sense of community and belonging" to help with recovery.

The move will increase current capacity from eight to 14 beds for women in recovery.

The proceeds from RAN's recent Night of Hope Gala will be dedicated to the renovations required for Sparrow House.

"We have approximately $200,000 in renovations ahead to fully prepare Sparrow House for its new role," Gaglardi said. "We appreciate the support we’ve received thus far and are actively sourcing further donations to complete these necessary renovations."

Once it opens Sparrow House will be continuing to offer provincially registered, bed-based addiction recovery service, designed to support those striving to reclaim their dignity and potential.

"We believe that recovery is possible for everyone and consider it a great privilege to walk alongside people on their recovery journey.
"The purchase and renovation of Sparrow House would not have been possible without the generous partnership of so many.

The program offers a safe and caring community where participants receive life-coaching and professional support with the integration of biblical values and principles.

The recovery process has four phases: Reflection, Readjustment, Recovery, and Reintegration, aimed at rebuilding self worth, character, emotional security, enhancing academic abilities, restoring meaningful relationships, controlling impulses, preventing relapses, and recovering their life purpose.

"Our approach focuses on participants’ strengths and assets, promoting life-giving behaviours and developing each individual’s unique talents and abilities."

The recovery program provides "an incredible environment" for women to process and heal from the underlying issues that led to addiction and experience real transformation.

"Together we are seeing lives transformed!’
