Get ready for 3-way stop removal at busy Chilliwack intersection

Traffic patterns at intersection of Young, Prairie Central and Chilliwack River roads set to change
3-way-gone
Motorists will notice traffic patterns have changed at the intersection of Young, Prairie Central and Chilliwack River roads as of July 5, 2025.

Get ready for new traffic patterns coming Saturday (July 5) at the intersection of Young, Prairie Central and Chilliwack River roads – including the removal of the three-way stop.

"Crews have recently completed road-widening and paving to facilitate this change," according to a City of Chilliwack notice.

Motorists will notice new lane markings, three-way stop removed, and only traffic coming from Prairie Central Road will be required to stop.

"This will enable free-flowing traffic between Young Road and Chilliwack River Road, helping to reduce congestion," the notice said.

"Signage of the traffic pattern change will be posted at the intersection."
