One person has died after a two-vehicle crash in Surrey Tuesday.
The RCMP Surrey Police Operations Support Unit’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team is investigating a two-vehicle collision in the 15700-block 92 Avenue where one person died Tuesday morning (June 17), according to a Surrey Police Service release.
At approximately 10:30 a.m., SPOSU officers received reports from BC Emergency Health Services of the crash. Surrey Fire Service firefighters and BCEHS paramedics attended the scene, but despite life-saving medical interventions, a 93-year-old woman — the driver of one of the vehicles — died, the release said.
SPOSU CCIT will lead the investigation.
At this early stage, the cause of the collision remains unknown, as does the cause of death of the driver.
The intersection of 158 Street and 92 Avenue is currently closed; motorists and pedestrians are asked to find alternate routes while the investigation takes place.
