After a police-involved shooting in Clayton Monday night, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team and B.C.'s police watchdog, the Independent Investigations Office of BC, are investigating.
The incident happened near 66A and 195 St. in Surrey at approximately 8:30 p.m. Monday (July 7), where neighbours report seeing police vehicles show up and shortly after, hearing multiple noises that sounded like gunshots.
Surrey Police Service senior media relations officer Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton confirmed it was a police-involved shooting that involved RCMP officers (with the city's Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit) Tuesday morning, and noted IHIT and the IIO are now involved in the investigation.
Peace Arch News has reached out to the IIO for further details.
