Several instances of break-enters and thefts kept 100 Mile House RCMP busy last week.
Sgt. Brian Lamb said RCMP responded to 117 calls for service, including the theft of an RV trailer from a residence on Greenall Road on Aug. 16. Lamb said the trailer is a 2019 30-foot Grand Design Imagine RV trailer with BC license plate WPY 92F. It was taken from the property at exactly 9:35 p.m.
Lamb said officers believe a truck, described only as being a model from the late 90s to early 2000s with a loud exhaust, driven by a male wearing reflective coveralls is involved in the theft. RCMP have released pictures of the RV trailer to the public to assist in locating it.
The RV trailer wasn't the only vehicle reported stolen to the police last week. On Wednesday, Aug. 14 officers received a report of a stolen Husqvarna ride-on mower and a red wooden trailer taken from the Sepa Lake area, Lamb said. Not long after the incident was posted on Facebook, an unknown male returned both the mower and the trailer, he added.
Meanwhile, on Monday, Aug. 19, RCMP received a report of a vehicle stolen from a residence in the 5000 block of Tatton Station Road. Sometime after Aug. 14 a red 2007 Ford Escape with BC license plate SD1 97B was taken from the property.
That same day officers also received a report of a stolen boat, trailer and outboard motor taken from property on the 7,000 block of Highway 24. The theft is believed to have occurred between 5 p.m. on Aug. 18 and 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 19.
Lamb said the boat is a 12-foot v-hull aluminium Yamaha G3 fitted with a grey-coloured 9.9hp Yamaha outboard four-stroke engine. It was last seen being hauled in a 2017 Highliner boat trailer with BC license plate WCR 45R. Fishing gear including rod holders, a fishing net and paddles were also in the boat at the time of the theft.
On Aug. 13, RCMP responded to reports of a two-vehicle collision on Horse Lake Road and Wolfe Road. On arrival, officers determined a vehicle travelling east on Horse Lake Road attempted to turn onto Wolfe Road and collided with another vehicle travelling west.
Lamb said the driver of the westbound vehicle was taken to the 100 Mile District General Hospital by EHS as a precautionary measure. Impairment was not a factor in this incident.
On Aug. 14 RCMP received reports of two separate incidents of breaking and entering. The first incident involved a trailer on Bridge Lake North Road. It is believed that sometime in the last month the trailer was entered and two trail cameras and thermal cells were taken.
The second incident occurred at a residence in the 4,000 block of Canim Hendrix Lake Road. Sometime between Aug. 10 and Aug. 14 the home was entered and a coffee maker and generator were stolen.
Later that week on Sunday, Aug. 18 RCMP received a report of another break and enter to a residence on Canim Hendrix Lake Road, this time in the 3,000 block. Lamb said a person familiar with the property had observed lights and a possible person inside.
On arrival, officers determined the residence had been entered but found no one inside. It is unknown at this time if anything was taken. Lamb said the incident occurred around 9 p.m.
A shed located in the 5,000 block of Dawson Road was broken into on Monday, Aug. 19. Lamb said the B&E occurred at approximately 2 a.m. and that multiple drills and tools were taken. Two suspects were observed at the end of the driveway of the property and left the scene in a small light-coloured car.
On Monday officers also received a report of criminal mischief to a car parked in the 3,000 block of Highway 97. The vehicle had been parked there overnight and had its windshield smashed by an individual with a chair. No further description is available at this time.
