Cloverdale Market Days returns June 21, Michelin star chef to be on hand

2nd of 5 markets for 2025 to take over downtown Cloverdale

Music, history, food and fun will be front and centre June 21 as Cloverdale Market Days returns to 176th Street. Oh, and a little shopping, of course.

This month's incarnation of the popular event will feature 144 confirmed vendors, along with an array of food trucks and live musical acts. This month’s festival will include musical performances from both new and established local artists.

“We are excited to welcome back a young local talent who performed for us years ago as a 10-year-old who sang and strummed a mean Ukulele,” said Paige Hardy, president of the Cloverdale Arts and Entertainment Association. “Sophia Bouvier has now matured into a lovely young lady who is working on her craft. She sings, plays guitar, piano, and writes her own music.”

Hardy said market-goers will love see and hear Bouvier play. She will be performing from 12:30-3 p.m. in front of Mason's Cloverdale Home Furnishings.

“Really hoping the community will come out to enjoy her and cheer her on,” she added.

Hardy said a pair of artists, a duo called Patsy and Joe, will be making their Cloverdale Market Days debut. She said the pair bring with them a ton of experience.

“Recording artist Patsy Thompson teams up with bassist-mandolin player, singer, Joey Hoar for an afternoon of original and Americana music, blending their influences from classic country, rock, blues and roots, and bluegrass,” Hardy noted. “ With Patsy's soulful vocals and Joe's musical style, they bring a fun, family-friendly performance you won't want to miss.”

Patsy and Joe will perform in front of Michaud’s, also from 12:30-3 p.m.

This will also be the first market at which the Re-Enactors will perform. The Surrey troupe of re-enacting historians will be performing for the crowds at the corner of 176th Street and 57th Avenue. They will also stay in character and roam the streets between their performances.

“If you’ve ever wondered about how we as a city developed, who were the first families to set up their homesteads here and how they contributed to our amazing city, make sure to stop and listen to their stories acted out by some very talented actors,” Hardy explained. “Between the shows the actors will remain in character and wander through the market.”

“Food Truck Lane” is also back. The designated street eats area will take over 57th Avenue. In the middle of it, there will be a covered food court area for market-goers to sit and eat and rest.

Hardy added that if anyone missed the most popular new vendor at the May Market Days, they need not worry as he is returning for June’s festival.

“Al Forno will be set up in the centre again with their pizza oven going,” she said. “The owner is a Michelin star chef and has got something great going on with his amazing wood-fired pizzas.”

Hardy said the family-friendly festival has something for everyone, including: face painters, balloon twisters, music, crafts, interactive booths from local community groups, artisans, and others.

“Park your cars in all the surrounding parking lots, grab your shopping totes, wagons, dog leashes, and come enjoy this amazing event put on monthly by the Cloverdale Arts and Entertainment Association.”

Market Days is the largest open-air market in Surrey and one of the largest in the Lower Mainland. Cloverdale Market Days can be found on both Instagram and Facebook.

Market Days runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on each festival day and is hosted in downtown Cloverdale on 176th Street between 56A Avenue and 58th Avenue. There are four market dates left for 2025: June 21, July 26, Aug. 23, and Sept. 13.
