June 25 to July 26, 2025 • A three-in-one art show is on display at the Odlum Brown Art Gallery in the Chilliwack Cultural Centre from June 25 to July 26. Fraser Valley Woodturners Guild presents '12 Turners', while the Fibre Art Network brings two shows 'Narrow Works' and 'I Am…' to the gallery. The opening reception is set for Saturday, June 28 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Gallery hours are noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday to Saturday. Admission is free.
June 27 and 28, 2025 • The all-ages Forest Echoes Music Festival returns on June 27 and 28 at a private, 20-acre property in Cultus Lake. It features 13 bands playing everything from high-energy funk and punk to indie rock and soulful music. There will also be local vendors, food, and artisan goods. June 28, 2025 • The Sardis Library presents its author event featuring Glenda Standeven on Saturday, June 28 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Standeven, a local author and inspirational speaker, recently had her fourth short story 'Becoming a Gracious Receiver' published in the acclaimed book series Chicken Soup For the Soul - 101 Ways to Think Positive. She will be sharing some of her many writing experiences and how others can become a published author in the Chicken Soup series. Copies of the book will be available for purchase following the event.This is a drop-in event.
June 28, 2025 • Join Muriel Victor, traditional wellness mentor, on a foraging Plant Walk and Harvest on June 28 at 9:30 a.m. Snacks and a tea appropriate to the harvest will be provided. June 28, 2025 • Laura Louis with Creative Memories presents scrapbooking event 'Oh! What a Memory!' on Saturday, June 28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Landing Sports Centre. People are asked to bring their own supplies and lunch. Louis will be teaching a class during this event. July 1, 2025 • The City of Chilliwack is hosting a number of events, including a free nighttime drone show, for this year's Canada Day Celebrations on Tuesday, July 1. The day includes a pancake breakfast at Evergreen Hall (9291 Corbould St.) from 8 a.m. to11 a.m., free ice skating and free admission to the Chilliwack Museum. Evening entertainment at Exhibition Field includes live entertainment, food trucks, family activities and games, plus the drone show once the sky is dark. July 1, 2025 • The Chilliwack River Valley Firefighters Society is having its by-donation Canada Day Barbecue on Tuesday, July 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Chilliwack River Valley Fire Hall (48685 Chilliwack Lake Rd.). There is a suggested donation of $5 for a hot dog, pop and chips. Kids can check out the fire truck and also spray the fire hose.
July 1, 2025 • The Chilliwack Fire Department is hosting its annual Canada Day pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Hall 1 (45950 Cheam Ave.) on Tuesday, July 1. The breakfast includes pancakes, eggs and sausage, and is by donation (minimum $5) with all proceeds going to the Chilliwack Firefighters Charitable Society. At the fire hall, people will be able to check out fire trucks, test out fire hoses and more.
July 3, 2025 • The library's Summer Reading Club kick-off party with Norden the Magician is Thursday, July 3 at the Chilliwack Library from 10 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. The outside party runs from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and the magic show will be inside from 12 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. There will be a bouncy castle, outdoor games, face painting, crafts and much more. People can sign up for the Summer Reading Club while there – it's open to people of all ages. In the event of extreme weather, contact the Chilliwack Library to ensure the event will go on as planned. This is a drop-in event.
July 3, 2025 • The Sardis Library is having a Summer Dance Party and Craft event on Thursday, July 3 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. People can make their own shaker instrument and join the dance party. All supplies will be provided. This is a drop-in event.
July 5, 2025 • The all-ages Controlled Chaos Music Festival is Saturday, July 5 at the Chilliwack Coliseum starting at 2 p.m. Bands include: Big Duke Sorrow, The Bobby's, Cows Go Moo, Whitey, Tayos, The Unbranded, Strawberry Blondes and The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets. The event also includes: on-site tattooing, food and drinks, a local artist/vendor market, skateboarding ramps and demos, and a kids' zone with games, face painting and more. July 5, 2025 • The Fraser Valley Thrift Market is July 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Chilliwack Heritage Park. This indoor garage sale also has a vintage and collectibles section.
July 5, 2025 • The Greyhaven Exotic Bird Sanctuary will be at the Chilliwack Library on Saturday, July 5 from 11 a.m.to 11:45 a.m. Ever wanted to see a live quaker parrot or blue-and-gold macaw? This presentation will allow people of all ages to see avian friends and hear how they were rescued. Greyhaven Exotic Bird Sanctuary is a non-profit rescue and protection for parrots and other birds. This is a drop-in event.
July 7 to Aug. 22, 2025 • Learn to Sail on Cultus Lake this summer with the Cultus Lake Sailing Club. Children, youth and adult programs available from July 7 to Aug. 22. The courses are a combination of dry land instruction and water-based training and cover the principles of sailing as well as basic water safety and righting of capsized boats. July 7 to 11, 2025 • Teenagers can learn about molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, genomics and more at Geneskool July 7 to 11. This summer camp will take place at the University of the Fraser Valley's Chilliwack Campus and is open to kids entering Grades 9 to 12. Cost is $350. July 7 to July 31, 2025 • The Sardis Library is hosting Storytime in Watson Glen Park throughout July from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Themes: Monday, July 7 - Dino Storytime and Dig; Monday, July 14 - Teddy Bear Picnic; Monday, July 21 - Bug Hunt and Craft; Thursday, July 31 - Ocean Storytime and Craft. These are drop-in events. In the event of extreme weather this event will be moved inside the library.
July 9, 2025 • The 'Summer Reading Club Drop-In for Teens' event is at the Chilliwack Library on Wednesday, July 9 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. This is open to teens aged 13 to 18 and there will be pizza and prize giveaways - with zero expectations. Drop by the teen area, grab a slice, and enter to win a gift card and other cool stuff just for showing up. Sign up for Summer Reading Club and get a goodie bag, try a laid-back summer activity or do absolutely nothing.
July 10 to Aug. 21, 2025 • Summertime in Salish: Storytimes in the Park runs throughout the summer on Thursdays in Salish Park, behind the Chilliwack Library. July 12, 2025 • Head to the Sardis Library for its Rock Painting event on Saturday, July 12 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Bring two rocks with the shape and potential to become a 3D conversation piece for your home or garden. All other supplies will be provided. For kids ages seven and up. Online registration required.
July 15, 2025 • The Chilliwack Library is inviting folks to celebrate Canadian National Parks Day with a peaceful, guided forest-bathing walk at Chilliwack Community Forest on Tuesday, July 15 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Forest bathing is designed to reduce stress and boost well-being through mindful connection with nature. No hiking experience needed; participants will move slowly and tune into the sights, sounds, and textures of the forest. After the session, people can take in a short, nature-themed family story time under the trees. To enhance the experience, consider borrowing a nature pack from the library beforehand to bring along. While this is an off-leash dog trail, people are asked to leave dogs at home for this program to maintain a calm, focused atmosphere. Online registration required at fvrl.bc.ca/events. July 16, 2025 • Head to the Sardis Library for event 'Karima Essa: Bollywood Star Dance and Workshop' on Wednesday, July 16 from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. In her trademark charming and humorous style, award-winning Bollywood dancer and choreographer Karima Essa showcases Bollywood dance as a fun cultural art form by opening with an electrifying dance in full regalia. She'll then lead a fun and engaging dance workshop to inspire people of all ages and abilities to get up and dance along with her. People will learn the basic elements of Bollywood dance, including signature neck and head movements, facial expressions and foot and hand movements, to current Bollywood hits, while using props such as scarves.
July 16, 2025 • The Chilliwack Library is hosting 'Art Night: Needle Felted Brooch' on Wednesday, July 16 from 6 p.m.to 7:30 p.m. Create a handmade brooch using the art of needle felting! In this hands-on workshop, library staff will provide all supplies and guide you step-by-step through the process. Please note: Needle felting involves sharp tools and requires careful handling. July 17 and Aug. 21, 2025 • The Summer Book Lovers Club is at the Chilliwack Library on Thursday, July 17 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Thursday, Aug. 21 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Chill out this summer with other book lovers to chat about books you're reading and books you love. There will be casual guided discussions as people share book recommendations, book reviews, and more. Feel free to bring some favourite books along. Refreshments will be provided. This is a drop-in event and is open to those 19 and older.
July 17, 2025 • Sardis Library presents 'Build a Gnome Home' on Thursday, July 17 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Create a cozy, whimsical gnome house using a variety of fun materials – all supplies provided. July 24, 2025 • The Sardis Library is hosting Great Blue Heron Reserve Storytime on Thursday, July 24 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 5200 Sumas Prairie Rd. July 27, 2025 • The 6th annual Bannister Chrysler Car Show is Sunday, July 27 from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at 45730 Hocking Ave. The day will be packed with vintage and classic cars, live entertainment, food trucks, family fun and more. Aug. 15 and 16, 2025 • Downtown Chilliwack will turn into a street party when the annual Chilliwack Mural Festival returns to Mill Street and District 1881 on Aug. 15 and 16. The public art event will see new work by 10 muralists this year in these areas, plus in Sardis. The festival includes live music, performances, art, food and more. NOW to June 2025 • The Chilliwack Rhythm Reelers, a non-profit modern social square dance group, is starting beginner classes on Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. at Atchelitz Hall (6542 Lickman Rd.). Classes take place every Friday from September 2024 to June 2025. The lessons are filled with fun, fitness and friendly people. Having a partner is not necessary. The group is made up of a diverse age range of dancers. Teens are welcome, but they must be accompanied by an adult.
NOW to August, 2025 • The Chilliwack Crusaders Rugby Club is launching a free U18 youth program for boys and girls. It is open to teens aged 15 to 17 and it runs every Wednesday evening at Sardis Secondary School from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. starting on May 21 and throughout the summer. There is no cost to join. NOW to Aug. 31, 2025 • Sts'ailes carver Lek'hoosh Arnie Leon has his work on display in The Mystical Eagle Carving Exhibit in the lobby of the Chilliwack Cultural Centre (9201 Courbold St.). The show will feature his wood carvings as well as Noelani Leon's painting and drawings, totalling 45 pieces on display. The exhibit goes until Aug. 31.

Scott Campbell is leading a company of talented improvisers from across the Lower Mainland including Chilliwack-based comedian Cliff Prang.
