June 14, 2025 • The 24th annual Ryder Lake Ramble is back on Saturday, June 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This self-guided tour features an eclectic mix of 13 private properties that will be open to the public. Head to the hall at 49265 Elk View Rd. to purchase a wristband - admission is by donation with a suggested $10 minimum per person or $20 per family. For more, go to ryderlakeramble.ca.

June 14, 2025 • The Chilliwack Academy of Music presents benefit concert 'L’Amour de la Musique for the love of music' on Saturday, June 14 at 5:30 p.m. at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre. The show will highlight the musical achievements of the academy, and will include a selection of French-inspired hors d’oeuvres by chef Elizabeth Grimaldi. This concert supports outreach musical education in the community and provides access to musical opportunities for children. Tickets $100 and can be purchased at the Centre Box Office, online at chilliwackculturalcentre.ca, or by calling 604-391-SHOW(7469).

June 14, 2025 • The 18th annual Lions Cultus Lake Fishing Derby is at Main Beach on Saturday, June 14 from 5 a.m. to noon. The event focuses on reducing the numbers of northern pikeminnow and invasive smallmouth bass which prey on the young Cultus Lake sockeye salmon. Registration runs until 11 a.m. Tickets are $3 for kids and $7 for adults, and are available at Fred’s Custom Tackle, or the Main Beach concession.

June 14 and 16, 2025 • Join BC Cancer for an informative presentation on cancer prevention and screening education on Saturday, June 14 from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Chilliwack Library, and on Monday, June 16 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Sardis Library. Folks will learn about BC Cancer's screening services, eligibility requirements, and have the opportunity to ask questions. At the end of the program, BC Cancer will help people book their own screening appointment. This is a drop-in event.

June 16, 2025 • It's Truth and Reconciliation Board Game Night at the Chilliwack Library on Monday, June 16 from 6 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Designed for adult participants, this interactive experience offers a respectful and welcoming space to explore the impacts of colonialism, reflect on shared histories, and consider paths toward healing. Guided by library staff, the game encourages thoughtful discussion and deeper understanding through play. No prior knowledge is needed – just a willingness to listen, learn, and participate. For ages 19 and older, online registration required. Register with a group or individually.

June 17, 2025 • The Rooted Waters and Cultural Showcase event, featuring a free celebration plus a ticketed event, is Tuesday, June 17 at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre and it's in recognition of National Indigenous Peoples Day. It begins with a free Indigenous vendor marketplace, featuring food, artisan crafts, and cultural treasures from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Then from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., there will be a ticketed event with the screening of film Rooted Waters (a video storytelling project highlighting the nine Indigenous nations connected to Chilliwack), and also a live puppeteer performance about an Indigenous sturgeon story. From 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., the evening gathering will continue with more food trucks, artisan vendors, and handmade goods, plus live art and traditional wood carving. To register and purchase a ticket, visit the Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce website or the Chilliwack Cultural Centre

June 17, 2025 • It's STEAM Tween Tuesday – Fruit Forensics at the Chilliwack Library on Tuesday, June 17 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. This monthly meetup is for tweens in Grades 4 to 7. All materials supplied. This month, participants will learn how to extract DNA from strawberries and bananas and view their results through a microscope. Kids can also make a human DNA beaded bracelet to take home. Online registration required. 

June 19 and 23, 2025 • People can watch the science of butterfly metamorphosis at the Butterfly Release Storytime event on Thursday, June 19 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Chilliwack Library, or on Monday, June 23 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sardis Library. The caterpillars (larvae) arrived at the Chilliwack and Sardis libraries at the end of May. Join library staff for a story, craft, and to release the butterflies into the wild. Weather permitting.

June 19, 2025 • Join Chilliwack Library staff for a special screening in honour of National Indigenous Peoples Day on Thursday, June 19 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The film will be Inkwo for When the Starving Return. This 18-minute stop-motion animated film is based on the world of celebrated author Richard Van Camp. The story follows Dove, a gender-shifting warrior who draws on the power of their Indigenous medicine, Inkwo, to defend their community against an unburied swarm of terrifying creatures. A guided discussion will follow the screening, with light refreshments provided. Please note: this film contains some intense and potentially frightening scenes and may not be suitable for all audiences. For ages 19 and older. This is a drop-in event. 

June 19, 2025 • Teen Daze (Jamison Isaak) will be the featured speaker for the next Creative Third Thursdays at Cowork Chilliwack. Over the past decade, Isaak has built an expansive discography of synth pop and romantic electronica, touring the globe and releasing standout work like Interior (2021), which earned the 2023 JUNO Award for Electronic Album of the Year. The event is happening on Thursday, June 19 at 12-8465 Harvard Pl. Doors open at 5 p.m. with the interview at 5:30 p.m. This is a free event, but registration is required at eventbrite.ca.

June 20, 2025 • Ukrainian documentary Life to the Limit will be screened at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre on Friday, June 20. There will also be a Ukrainian art exhibition on display that night. The film is about the lives of two Kyiv filmmakers who left their Oscar-nominated film to volunteer on Ukraine’s eastern front. Using their own footage and stories, the film shows the human cost of war and the strength that rises from tragedy. Tickets are $26.25 and can be purchased at the Centre Box Office, online at chilliwackculturalcentre.ca, or by calling 604-391-SHOW(7469).

June 20, 2025 • It's 'Friday Every Day Café for Seniors' at the Chilliwack Library on June 20 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Seniors are welcome to join for activities, light refreshments and occasionally special guests. This month: music bingo and ice cream sundaes. Online registration required.  

June 21, 2025 • The self-guided Rotary Garden Tour returns on Saturday, June 21. There will be nine private gardens on the tour and it runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $25 and available online at chilliwackrotary.com/rotary-garden-tour or in-person at Fortin's Home Hardware (Chilliwack and Vedder Crossing), Hofstede's Country Barn, Little Mountain Garden Centre, and Minter Country Garden. Funds raised help fund the Rotary Club of Chilliwack’s work on local trails and parks.

June 21, 2025 • Chillcouture: Shxwthíyt’awkw’ 2025, an Indigenous gala featuring fashion design, arts, music and culture, will return to the Shxwhá:y Cultural Centre (9651 Skway Rd.) on Saturday, June 21 at 6 p.m. Fashion designers include Aboriginal Threadz, Nikki LaRock Dezines, and hair-braiding stylists Leanne Greens and Kassidy LaRock. There will also be a jam session with four traditional singers and drummers, and an Iron Man competition with prizes – both these events are audience participative. People can taste a selection of Indigenous delicacies with food trucks and other vendors. This is also a fundraiser benefitting the Chillcouture scholarship fund for a local high-school student. June 21, 2025 • Abby Cat Daddy the Feline Advocate Society is having a bottle drive on Saturday, June 21 at Watson Glen Park. People can drop off empties (cans, bottles, milk jugs) in clear or blue bags between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Money goes to support feline welfare programs in the Fraser Valley. June 21, 2025 • Head to the Sardis Library for Coffee & Talk: Honouring National Indigenous Peoples Day on Saturday, June 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The day will feature Courtney Dowdall, a Métis researcher, nationally recognized scholar, and advocate for change. Currently completing her PhD at Simon Fraser University, she has been federally honoured for her groundbreaking research on intimate partner violence in Canada. Drawing from lived experience, Indigenous knowledge, and global interviews with frontline professionals, Dowdall explores coercive control, how intimate partner violence escalates to lethal outcomes, and the systemic gaps that allow it to persist. This is a drop-in event.

June 21 to September, 2025 • Sign up for the Summer Reading Club, hosted by the Fraser Valley Regional Library. It's open to people of all ages, and everyone has a chance to win weekly and monthly prizes. June 21, 2025 • Wilma’s Transition Society is hosting its fourth annual Indigenous Peoples Day Event on Saturday, June 21 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sardis Park. The day includes cultural celebrations, food trucks, face painting, bouncy castles, vendors, info booths and more. 

June 22, 2025 • The 20th annual Village Classic Car Show will fill downtown Chilliwack on Sunday, June 22 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This free event brings more than 500 vehicles and thousands of people to Five Corners and the surrounding streets. It features live music, food trucks, a family fun zone and more.

June 23, 2025 • Pride Film Club: Celebrating LGBTQ+ Stories on Screen is at the Chilliwack Library on June 23 where movie A Mother Apart will be shown from 5:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. After the screening, stay for a casual, respectful discussion to reflect on the themes, characters, and real-world connections brought to life on screen. This is for members and allies of the LGBTQ+ community. For ages 19 and older. This is a drop-in event.

June 25, 2025 • Join the Chilliwack Youth Health Centre on June 25 at 7 p.m. for a movie night fundraiser at Cottonwood 4 Cinemas where they will screen classic '80s movie The Breakfast Club. Folks can buy a ticket for $20, which includes admission, drink, and popcorn, or they can donate a ticket for a youth. June 27 and 28, 2025 • The all-ages Forest Echoes Music Festival returns on June 27 and 28 at a private, 20-acre property in Cultus Lake. It features 13 bands playing everything from high-energy funk and punk to indie rock and soulful music. There will also be local vendors, food, and artisan goods. Day passes and weekend passes available, with discounts for youths. June 28, 2025 • The Sardis Library presents its author event featuring Glenda Standeven on Saturday, June 28 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Standeven, a local author and inspirational speaker, recently had her fourth short story 'Becoming a Gracious Receiver' published in the acclaimed book series Chicken Soup For the Soul - 101 Ways to Think Positive. She will be sharing some of her many writing experiences and how others can become a published author in the Chicken Soup series. Copies of the book will be available for purchase following the event.This is a drop-in event.

June 28, 2025 • Join Muriel Victor, traditional wellness mentor, on a foraging Plant Walk and Harvest on June 28 at 9:30 a.m. Snacks and a tea appropriate to the harvest will be provided. No shorts or open-toed sandals. Meeting location is at the On The Way store (46484 Chilliwack Lake Rd.). Carpooling is encouraged. Register online.

June 28, 2025 • Laura Louis with Creative Memories presents scrapbooking event 'Oh! What a Memory!' on Saturday, June 28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Landing Sports Centre. People are asked to bring their own supplies and lunch. Louis will be teaching a class during this event. July 1, 2025 • The City of Chilliwack is hosting a number of events, including a free nighttime drone show, for this year's Canada Day Celebrations on Tuesday, July 1. The day includes a pancake breakfast at Evergreen Hall (9291 Corbould St.) from 8 a.m. to11 a.m., free ice skating and free admission to the Chilliwack Museum. Evening entertainment at Exhibition Field includes live entertainment, food trucks, family activities and games, plus the drone show once the sky is dark. For more information and up-to-date schedules, visit chilliwack.com/CanadaDay.

July 3, 2025 • The library's Summer Reading Club kick-off party with Norden the Magician is Thursday, July 3 at the Chilliwack Library from 10 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. The outside party runs from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and the magic show will be inside from 12 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. There will be a bouncy castle, outdoor games, face painting, crafts and much more. People can sign up for the Summer Reading Club while there – it's open to people of all ages. In the event of extreme weather, contact the Chilliwack Library to ensure the event will go on as planned. This is a drop-in event.

July 5, 2025 • The all-ages Controlled Chaos Music Festival is Saturday, July 5 at the Chilliwack Coliseum starting at 2 p.m. Bands include: Big Duke Sorrow, The Bobby's, Cows Go Moo, Whitey, Tayos, The Unbranded, Strawberry Blondes and The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets. The event also includes: on-site tattooing, food and drinks, a local artist/vendor market, skateboarding ramps and demos, and a kids' zone with games, face painting and more. July 5, 2025 • The Fraser Valley Thrift Market is July 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Chilliwack Heritage Park. This indoor garage sale also has a vintage and collectibles section.

July 7 to Aug. 22, 2025 • Learn to Sail on Cultus Lake this summer with the Cultus Lake Sailing Club. Children, youth and adult programs available from July 7 to Aug. 22. The courses are a combination of dry land instruction and water-based training and cover the principles of sailing as well as basic water safety and righting of capsized boats. July 7 to 11, 2025 • Teenagers can learn about molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, genomics and more at Geneskool July 7 to 11. This summer camp will take place at the University of the Fraser Valley's Chilliwack Campus and is open to kids entering Grades 9 to 12. Cost is $350. July 27, 2025 • The 6th annual Bannister Chrysler Car Show is Sunday, July 27 from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at 45730 Hocking Ave. The day will be packed with vintage and classic cars, live entertainment, food trucks, family fun and more. People can register their vehicle (all makes and models are welcome) for a $25 donation, and all proceeds go to Little Heroes Hockey Academy. Aug. 8 to 10, 2025 • The 153rd annual Chilliwack Fair returns to Chilliwack Heritage Park from Friday, Aug. 8 to Sunday, Aug. 10. Canadian-American country singer-songwriter Aaron Goodvin performs on Aug. 8 around 9 p.m. For more, go to chilliwackfair.com.

Aug. 15 and 16, 2025 • Downtown Chilliwack will turn into a street party when the annual Chilliwack Mural Festival returns to Mill Street and District 1881 on Aug. 15 and 16. The public art event will see new work by 10 muralists this year in these areas, plus in Sardis. The festival includes live music, performances, art, food and more. Sept. 6, 2025 • The 35th annual SuperWalk, a fundraiser for Parkinson Society BC, is Sept. 6 at the Landing Sports Centre (45530 Spadina Ave.). NOW to June 21, 2025 • The Chilliwack Visual Artists Association presents exhibition Modern Mythology, a solo show by Kayla Neufeld Gowans of Agassiz, at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre from May 21 to June 21. Opening reception is set for Saturday, May 24 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

NOW to June 2025 • The Chilliwack Rhythm Reelers, a non-profit modern social square dance group, is starting beginner classes on Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. at Atchelitz Hall (6542 Lickman Rd.). Classes take place every Friday from September 2024 to June 2025. The lessons are filled with fun, fitness and friendly people. Having a partner is not necessary. The group is made up of a diverse age range of dancers. Teens are welcome, but they must be accompanied by an adult.

NOW to August, 2025 • The Chilliwack Crusaders Rugby Club is launching a free U18 youth program for boys and girls. It is open to teens aged 15 to 17 and it runs every Wednesday evening at Sardis Secondary School from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. starting on May 21 and throughout the summer. There is no cost to join. NOW to August, 2025 • The Artisan and Farm Market is every Wednesday night (May 7 to August) from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Sardis Park. There are more than 24 local vendors selling fresh produce, baked goods, handmade soap, clothing, crafts, and more. There's also food trucks and live entertainment.

NOW to Aug. 29, 2025 • The Yarrow Farm Market runs every Friday night (May 23 to Aug. 29) from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Yarrow Pioneer Park.

NOW to Aug. 31, 2025 • Sts'ailes carver Lek'hoosh Arnie Leon has his work on display in The Mystical Eagle Carving Exhibit in the lobby of the Chilliwack Cultural Centre (9201 Courbold St.). The show will feature his wood carvings as well as Noelani Leon's painting and drawings, totalling 45 pieces on display. The exhibit goes until Aug. 31.

NOW to Oct. 4, 2025 • The Downtown Chilliwack Community Market returns to Chilliwack on Saturday, May 24. This year the market will be at a new location – Central Community Park – and will run every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. until Oct. 4.

NOW to Oct. 7, 2025 • Ready to shop local? Market at the Coliseum starts up again on Tuesday, June 3 and runs every Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. until Oct. 7. The market features local growers, artisans, food and music, and is located at the corner of Hodgins Avenue and Ashwell Road (in the parking lot of the Chilliwack Coliseum). NOW to November 2025 • The Atchelitz Thresherman's Association Pioneer Village and Farm Museum (44146 Luckakuck Way) is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. most Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays until November. For more, go to atchelitz.ca/home. Entrance is by donation.

ONGOING EVENTS:

Every Friday evening • Chilliwack Grapplers Wrestling, along with Chilliwack Community Services, is offering free drop-in wrestling for youth every Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Chilliwack Landing Sports Centre on the second floor (45530 Spadina Ave.). It is led by 2008 Olympic Coach Americo Pena. No previous experience required. For ages 9 to 17. It includes games, snacks and wrestling. For more: infocgwa@gmail.com, or 604-997-5758.

The Chilliwack Chess Club meets twice a week where chess aficionados can connect, learn, and engage in friendly matches. It is open to everyone from beginners to grand masters. They meet Fridays from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Starbucks across from Real Canadian Superstore (45750 Luckakuck Way) and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Salvation Army Church on Brooks Avenue.

First Saturday of each month • Very Very Improv Theatre, a professional company based in the Fraser Valley, has monthly performances at CoWork Chilliwack. Scott Campbell is leading a company of talented improvisers from across the Lower Mainland including Chilliwack-based comedian Cliff Prang. The shows happen on the first Saturday of every month at CoWork Chilliwack. Tickets for all performances are available at veryveryimprov.ca/tickets.

Every Tuesday night • Corky’s Irish Pub wants you to come be a rock star as they host karaoke every Tuesday night.

Every Wednesday morning • TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) 1303 Chilliwack meets Wednesday mornings at the Lynnwood Retirement Residence at 9168 Corbould St. Weigh-in is at 8:15 a.m. followed by a meeting from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. For information call 604-316-5202 or e-mail alees45@hotmail.com.

Second Thursday of each month • The Fraser Valley Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry Association is actively searching for serving, non-serving, family members or any other personnel who have served in any function with the Patricias to join them every second Thursday of each month at 11:30 a.m. at the Chilliwack-Vedder Legion Branch 295 (5661 Vedder Rd.). Last Friday of every month • NOTE: There will be no spaghetti dinner for the months of May to August, 2025; this event will resume in September. The Mount Cheam Lions hosts a spaghetti dinner on the last Friday of every month at the Lions Club (45580 Spadina Ave.). The cost is $10 and includes spaghetti, garlic toast, tea or coffee, and dessert. It goes from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
