Vernon Vipers forward Logan Peskett (left) and Gradey Hope of the Blackfalds Bulldogs are now teammates. The Vipers shipped Peskett to Blackfalds Monday, Dec. 21, for future considerations, eight days after the Snakes downed the Bulldogs 7-4 at Kal Tire Place.

Logan Peskett's stay with the Vernon Vipers was a short one.

The Vipers moved the 19-year-old forward to the B.C. Hockey League's Blackfalds Bulldogs Monday, Dec. 23, in exchange for future considerations.

Vernon picked up the Western Hockey League veteran on Dec. 5 after stints with the Kelowna Rockets and Regina Pats.

Peskett registered one assist in three games with the Snakes.

The Bulldogs have the BCHL's worst record at the Christmas break, sitting in the basement of the Interior Conference with a 2-23-1 record, including a 7-4 loss to the Vipers in Vernon's final game before the holidays Dec. 13.

Blackfalds team owner and head coach Doug Quinn officially stepped down as head coach Dec. 17. He had planned to retire before the start of the season, but stayed on to help guide the team's transition to the BCHL.

The Bulldogs were one of five teams to leave the Alberta Junior Hockey League in 2024 to join the BCHL.

Quinn guided Blackfalds to back-to-back 39-win seasons in 2022-23 and 2023-24.

Assistant coach Ryan Tobler was named Blackfalds' interim head coach for the remainder of the season Dec. 21.

The Snakes have also brought in a new player.

Forward Talan Blanck has joined the team. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound American is committed to the University of Alaska-Fairbanks.

"We are thrilled to have Talan joining our team for the rest of the season," said Vipers head coach Lukas Lomicky. "He's a player who will come in and help our group immediately. He has a strong 200-foot game, which he's developed through years of junior experience."

Blanck, 19, played 22 games this season in the United States Hockey League with the Sioux City Musketeers. He had two goals and six points.

"I'm super excited for the opportunity to join the Vernon Vipers organization," said Blanck, a native of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. "I look forward to helping the team in any way I can."

The Vipers return to league play with a home-and-home showdown with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks Dec. 28 (6 p.m., Kal Tire Place, Vernon) and Dec. 29 (4 p.m. Rogers Rink, Salmon Arm).
