Eagles netminder Gabe Bergeron was tagged with the loss after making 37 saves. The Shuswap-based club was unable to convert on any of its four power-play opportunities.

The Posse jumped out to a 1-0 lead on Friday at 13:57 of the first period when Gush found the back of the net.

Langdon and Roy scored back-to-back power-play goals early in the second period to extend Princeton's lead to 3-0.

The Posse and Eagles combined to take a whopping 15 penalties, with the latter committing 10 of them. Six different Sicamous skaters were sent to the box in the third period alone.

Game 2 is set for Saturday, March 1, at Princeton & District Arena. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
