For the second consecutive weekend, the South Okanagan Flames brought too much heat to the North Okanagan Reapers, defeating them in Thompson Okanagan Junior Lacrosse League (TOJLL) action.

The game on Saturday, May 31 was a 13-7 victory for the Flames, which followed up a 12-6 result the week before.

Saturday's match was in Penticton' Memorial Arena, and the Flames came out of the gate hot, with three goals in the first two minutes.

After both teams traded goals later in the period, Reapers leading scorer Colten Colmorgen would get on the board late in the frame, scoring twice in a 50 second span to bring the deficit to 4-3.

The one-goal deficit would be the closest North Okanagan would get throughout the night, as the Heat would pour it on in the third, with four straight goals, including one from goaltender Owen Byers to eventually win, 13-7.

Taynon Charters had a hat trick for South Okanagan, while Sam Babakaiff added two goals and two assists.

Colmorgen concluded his night with four goals and two assists, now ranking fourth in the TOJLL league scoring with 35 points in just eight games.

The Flames outshot the Reapers, 53-38.

The loss drops the Reapers to 4-5 in the TOJLL standings. They will be back in action next against the top-ranked Kamloops Venom (7-5-1) on Wednesday, June 4 in Kamloops.
