Armstrong Shamrocks, Vernon Tigers both falter in senior lacrosse action

The Armstrong Shamrocks lost 14-7 to the Kelowna Raiders and the Vernon Tigers dropped a 14-10 decision to Kamloops.

A weekend of lacrosse action didn't go the way of the North Okanagan.

The Armstrong Shamrocks and Vernon Tigers both dropped games in Thompson Okanagan Senior Lacrosse League (TOSLL) play on Friday, June 6.

The Shamrocks (3-3) had their work cut out for them, battling the top-ranked Kelowna Raiders (5-1) at home at the Sunbelt Arena.

Led by Andrew Garant's eight-point performance (four goals, four assists), the Raiders would comfortably win, 14-7.

Jacob McMillan also had four goals for the Raiders, while Zander Torres (four assists), Mitch Parker (one goal, three assists) and Dayton McIntosh (two goals, two assists) added four-point nights.

Armstrong was led by Caden Peters' hat-trick and three points from D Halifax.

The Vernon Tigers (0-5) were at home at Kal Tire Place for their matchup against the Kamloops Rattlers (2-3), looking for their first win of the season.

Despite a back-and-forth battle, the Rattlers would come out on top, 14-10, led by a hat-trick from Colton Boomer.

Next up for the Shamrocks is another home game, this time against Kamloops on Friday, June 13. The Tigers will also be at home on Friday against the Raiders.
