Four RCMP officers have created a Targeted Enforcement Unit (TEU) dedicated to West Kelowna and they've already made a quick strike.
On Friday, May 2, just one week into its operations, the TEU and South East District Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a search warrant in the 2400 block of Drought Road. As a result, officers were able to seize fentanyl, cocaine methamphetamine, replica firearms, cash, and stolen property.
“The launch of the Targeted Enforcement Unit is a strategic step toward addressing some of the most pressing public safety concerns in our area,” said West Kelowna RCMP S/Sgt. Brendan Dolan. “The early success of this operation, particularly the seizure of dangerous drugs like fentanyl, demonstrates the team’s effectiveness and our ongoing commitment to reducing crime and protecting our communities.”
The purpose of the TEU is to enhance community safety, primarily targeting disrupting local drug trade, and repeat offenders, and supporting special projects aimed at improving public safety.
