TRU holding memorial for athlete killed in Kamloops car crash

The memorial is taking place on Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 4 p.m.

Thompson Rivers University (TRU) will be holding a memorial for Owyn McInnis.

McInnis, a member of the school’s men’s volleyball team was killed in a multiple vehicle car crash in Kamloops on Wednesday, Nov. 29.

His family held a memorial back in his hometown of Guelph, Ontario back on Dec. 9.

Now the university is holding a memorial for teammates, students, and staff to attend. It is taking place at the TCC Gym on TRU’s campus on Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 4 p.m.

In the crash, two other members of the volleyball team, Owen Waterhouse and Riley Brinnen of Kelowna suffered serious injuries.
