Don't put those umbrellas away yet as for the second day in a row, heavy rain is expected in the South Thompson and North Okanagan.

Early Thursday morning (July 10), Environment Canada continued its issued special weather statement due to the potential of heavy rain in Vernon, Revelstoke, Salmon Arm, Sicamous, Kamloops, Ashcroft, and Barriere.

"Heavy rain could develop along a front passing through Southern Interior B.C. this morning," stated Environment Canada. "Current weather model guidance is indicating locally high rainfall amounts. However, due to the convective nature of the precipitation, there remains some uncertainty as to the exact locations of the heavy rain band."

Because of this, sensitive areas are at a heightened risk of localized flooding and debris flows, the government weather agency added.

There is also an increased risk of landslides and lowered visibility for drivers.

Additionally, there is a risk of thunderstorms in the issued area.

The rain is expected to end by the middle of the day.
