A democratic government comes at a cost, and in Princeton, that cost was $101,503.64 in 2024.

That figure covered the remuneration paid to Princeton’s mayor and four councillors.

Mayor Spencer Coyne received $47,167.64, while the four councillors — Wilbur Elliott, Barbara Gould, Randy McLean and Tyler Willis — each received $13,584.

Members of council also claimed $9,939.01 in expenses. Coyne’s expenses came to $7,872.73, McLean and Willis each claimed $747.60, Elliott had expenses totalling $571.08 and Gould claimed no expenses.

The figures were included in the Statement of Financial Information for the 2024 calendar year. This document is required by all local governments within the province.
