Mix of sun and cloud, foggy patches expected on all Okanagan highways

Weather conditions look favourable for holiday travel, but still drive with caution

It looks like its going to be a beautiful day on the roads for people travelling for the holidays.

After the major Okanagan highways received some snow and rain on Friday, Dec. 22, there will be in minimal precipitation on Saturday, according to Environment Canada.

On Dec. 23, the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Merritt has a 40 per cent chance of flurries and foggy patches in the morning, but clearing is expected in the afternoon, with a mix of sun and cloud.

After being closed for some time due to a vehicle incident on Friday night, the Coquihalla from Merritt to Kamloops has fog patches Saturday morning that are expected to clear.

The same goes for the Okanagan Connector, from Merritt to West Kelowna, as morning fog patches will dissipate as the day goes on.

Highway 3 from Hope to Princeton is also expected to have a mix of sun and cloud throughout the day Saturday with foggy patches in the morning.

The Trans-Canada Highway from Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass is also going to experience a mix of sun and cloud throughout the day.

Drivers may still experience icy conditions on the road from Friday’s snowfall and are still advised to drive with caution.
