Despite no current weather alerts, Coquihalla protocol has been put in place for the Coquihalla Highway.
The protocol usually gets put into effect by B.C.’s Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure when the stretch of highway is expecting more than 15 to 20 centimetres of snowfall over 12 hours.
According to Environment Canada, the Coquihalla is only expecting 2 to 4 cm of snow on Saturday and rain on Sunday as temperatures warm up.
Additionally, the Okanagan Connector is also expecting 2 to 4 cm of snow in the next 24 hours while Highway 3 from Hope to Princeton is expecting 5 cm of snow.
