Four skateparks across Surrey are part of the 2025 Surrey Rides series of events.
Every summer The City of Surrey plans the gatherings for skateboarders and also scooter and bike riders, starting June 21 this year.
Surrey Rides is open to riders 18 years of age and under, and all skill levels are welcome, according to a post on surrey.ca.
"Free snacks, skateboard, scooter and BMX jams and prize giveaways at the event. If you're new to the sport, then come try it out with instruction from some of the city's finest riders. Helmets are mandatory to participate.
All events are from 4 to 7 p.m. starting Saturday, June 21 at Cloverdale Skatepark (6240 Highway 15). Other Surrey Rides events follow at Chuck Bailey Skatepark in Whalley on Friday, July 25 (13458 107 Ave.), South Surrey Skatepark on Friday, Aug. 8 (14601 20 Ave.) and Fraser Heights Skatepark on Saturday, Aug. 9 (10588 160 St.).
Spectators are welcome to attend and watch for free. "Stop by to enjoy this community event and the impressive skills and energy these young riders bring with them," the event website says.
