The Nanaimo NightOwls swooped back to Serauxmen Stadium to start another West Coast League baseball season.

The NightOwls were defeated 6-3 by the Bellingham Bells in the first game of the season Friday, May 30. Bellingham struck first in the game, then Nanaimo had come back to lead before giving it up in the seventh.

Raoul Fabian Jr. hit a two-run home run and Easton Mould was 2-for-3 at the plate for Nanaimo. Jaedeyn Edwards suffered the loss on the mound after 1 1/3 relief innings.

GAME ON … The teams play again Saturday, May 31, at 6:35 p.m., then on Sunday, June 1, at 1:05 p.m.
