Cariboo Memorial Hospital's emergency department will be closed Saturday, July 13 at 5:30 p.m. until Sunday, July 14 at 7:30 a.m. for the sixth time this month.
Interior Health says the closure is due to limited nursing availability in a news release issued Saturday afternoon.
Anyone needing to access care is encouraged to go to 100 Mile District General Hospital, GR Baker Memorial Hospital in Quesnel or the Bella Coola General Hospital.
Interior Health said patients can also call HealthLink BC at 811 or visit https://www.healthlinkbc.ca/ for non-emergency health information from nurses, dietitians and pharmacists 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Earlier this week, Williams Lake city council voted unanimously to call for an operational review of the Cariboo Memorial Hospital.
The hope is an operational review of the hospital could help create a more positive culture of recruitment and retention.
