A wildfire discovered Wednesday, April 30 near Barriere Lakes Road is being held.

The BC Wildfire Map indicates there is a wildfire burning near Barriere Lake Road on Wednesday, April 30 that is being held. 

As of 6:30 p.m. it is estimated to be .2 hectares and is suspected to be human caused. 

An hour ago BC Wildfire Service posted on its Facebook urging the public and industry to not conduct any open burning on Thursday, May 1 or Friday, May 2. 

"High temperatures, low humidity and windy conditions - especially in the Cariboo and Kamloops Fire Centres - will continue to elevate fire danger. Conditions may continue into Saturday , so please check your local weather forecasts before lighting a fire of any size."
