The City of West Kelowna is participating in a Facebook Live session about repayment options for the Rose Valley Water Treatment Plant.
It is being hosted by the Rose Valley Community Facebook Group, and is taking place today (May 8) at 5 p.m. The session was announced by the group earlier this week.
Property owners in the Rose Valley Water Local Area Service recently received letters outlining two payment options for their share of the $75 million project. Option one allows residents to do nothing and have approximately $181 added to their annual property tax bill starting in 2026. Option two offers a one-time prepayment of $2,750 by May 31, 2025, payable in person at city hall.
However, there were complaints about the short notice of the letters. The city acknowledges the fact and has apologized for any confusion caused.
The city is hosting its own Facebook Live session on Monday, May 12 at 5 p.m. to address questions about repayment options for the Rose Valley Water Treatment Plant. Residents can tune in at facebook.com/cityofwestkelowna for a 30-minute session, which will be extended if needed.
For those unable to attend the Facebook Live session, questions can be directed to ub.finance@westkelownacity.ca or by calling 778-797-8850.
Additional information is available on the city's website.
