UPDATE Dec. 6:

The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) advises customers supplied by Greater Vernon Water (GVW) in the Delcliffe area that the precautionary Water Quality Advisory (WQA) originally issued on Sept. 20, 2024, has been rescinded.

Work on the reservoir has successfully been completed and all bacterial testing has been finalized. The reservoir will be put online on Dec. 6, 2024, and use of the temporary reservoir will end.

If you have any questions, contact the RDNO Utilities Department at 250-550-3700.

UPDATE Nov. 22:

A precautionary water quality advisory (WQA) is being extended again for customers in the Delcliffe area.

The advisory has been extended to Dec. 20, the Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) advises customers supplied by Greater Vernon Water (GVW).

"Upon draining the reservoir, it was discovered that additional work would be required which has caused the WQA to be extended beyond the original estimated completion date," the RDNO said.

The original completion date was Oct. 30, which was then extended to Nov. 22 and now the RDNO says remediation is on pace to be completed by Dec. 20.

Some customers in the affected area may wish to boil their water for at least one minute when preparing any food, drinking, washing fruits and vegetables, making beverages or ice or when brushing teeth.

The WQA will be rescinded once the work on the existing reservoir has been completed and testing has confirmed that the existing reservoir meets drinking water guidelines.
