Vernon scooter operator injured after collision with vehicle

Incident happened around 2 p.m. Monday, June 2, at the Landing Plaza entrance on 25th Avenue

Vernon North Okanagan RCMP investigate a collision between a scooter and a truck Monday, June 2, in the 5300 block of 25th Avenue. The scooter operator, 53, suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and was treated at the scene.

A man in his 50s suffered non-life-threatening injuries after colliding with a vehicle at the Okanagan Landing Plaza Monday, June 2.

Vernon North Okanagan RCMP received a report of a collision between a scooter and a vehicle in the 5300 block of 25th Avenue at around 2 p.m.

"Officers responded to the location, and after speaking to the involved parties and witnesses, determined the scooter was travelling on the sidewalk when it was struck by a pickup exiting the parking lot onto 25th Avenue," said Vernon North Okanagan RCMP media relations officer Const. Chris Terleski.

The scooter rider, 53, was provided care at the scene by BC Emergency Health Services.
