Vehicle crashes into house near university campus in Nanaimo

A vehicle went off the road, through a fence and collided with the side of a house in Nanaimo this morning.

Emergency personnel were called to a single-vehicle collision at about 10 a.m. on Monday, June 23, on Wakesiah Avenue at Dundas Street.

RCMP on scene said it appeared the vehicle was heading northbound on Wakesiah when the incident occurred. Police added that there was nothing criminal in the incident and chalked it up to driver error.

There were several occupants in the compact crossover utility vehicle but no one was hurt.
