Team Canada defeated Triple Crown Colorado 7-3 on Friday (July 11), advancing to the semi-finals.
The team will play the Netherlands at 6 p.m. tonight (July 12) at Diamond One at Softball City.
The team, which features several players from throughout the Lower Mainland and B.C., defeated Team New Zealand 8-1 in their first game of the tournament Tuesday (July 8), followed by a 15-0 win over Team Ukraine in the 8:30 p.m. game the same night at Softball City in South Surrey.
Team Canada defeated Team BC 8-1 and SoCal Sting 10-1 on Thursday (July 11), finishing the round robin with a 4-1 record.
The Canada Cup will run July 4-13 at Softball City in South Surrey, and expected to attracted more than 1,500 high-level athletes from around the world, Team Canada is coming off an undefeated run and gold-medal performance at last year’s tournament, returning to the diamond with a strong mix of veteran leadership and new talent, aiming to defend their title on home soil.
