Installation of the sanitary trunk sewer main is currently underway along Aberdeen Road, and due to the depth of the excavation and safety concerns for both motorists and pedestrians, Aberdeen Road will be closed between Middleton Drive and Selkirk Drive until October 2025.

"This is a full closure, 24-hour/seven days a week," said the district. "Residents and visitors to Coldstream will need to use alternative routes."

Access to Selkirk Drive and the Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) offices will be fully accessible from Highway 6.

Construction crews have encountered unexpected bedrock at the intersection of Aberdeen Road and Selkirk Drive, resulting in project delays.

The extents of the bedrock have been assessed and will require specialized drilling equipment, which is not readily available. Once the schedule for drilling is confirmed, residents, the RDNO staff and visitors will be notified.

Rock removal will require a temporary reinstatement of the intersection closure and a resumption of the bypass through Inverness Drive. This work is anticipated to take place before the end of July.
