The Salmon Arm RCMP is asking for the public's assistance in locating a stolen truck that somebody nicked Thursday night.
The 1999 Ford F-250 pickup, taken from a location near the Mall at Piccadilly on Feb. 13 at 8:24 p.m., is described as dark green with a visor above the windshield and a 4x4 decal on the rear panel, and is a non-dually diesel with no front plate. The rear plate, which could have been replaced with a different one since stolen, reads 4167HR.
"Stolen vehicles are often used to commit other property related offences over a period of several days and sometimes weeks before they are dumped, and another vehicle is stolen," Const. Andrew Hodges said. "This particular truck is somewhat unique due to its age, diesel fuel type, and front visor.
"We believe the public can assist us in locating it quickly, increasing our likelihood of apprehending someone and preventing further crimes with it."
Anyone with information or who believes they have located the truck are are asked to contact the Salmon Arm RCMP immediately at 250-832-6044, and reference file number 2025-725.
To help prevent theft, police remind vehicle owners to lock all doors and windows, never leave it unattended with the keys inside, even for a second, and don't hide a spare key in or on it.
