Saanich’s annual Strawberry Festival returns to Beaver Lake Park on Sunday, July 6, with a full day of family fun, local flavour, and sweet summer treats.
Running from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the 58th edition will feature live music, kids’ activities, bouncy castles, arts and crafts, and booths from local artisans, food vendors and community organizations.
“Strawberry Fest is my absolute favourite event of the year,” said Saanich Mayor Dean Murdock. “I encourage everyone to come enjoy the live music, festivities, and a sweet summer treat with family and friends.”
The festival highlight is the traditional strawberry and ice cream serving, made with locally grown berries from Michell’s Farm and Island Farms ice cream. It will be available from 2 to 4 p.m. for $2 per serving, with a limited number of vegan Cold Comfort servings also offered.
Event passports will be available at Saanich booths, with prizes for those who participate in activities throughout the park.
To get there, attendees can park at Beaver Lake or overflow areas along Elk Lake Drive and Saanich Commonwealth Place, where a shuttle will run throughout the day. A free bike valet will also be provided by Capital Bike.
