Road closures part of paving plan for Ryder Lake Road in Chilliwack

Detour in July 2025 will be in effect via Extrom Road/Thornton Road to Promontory Road/Teskey Way during paving

Paving work is set to start on Ryder Lake Road and Elk View Road this week, according to the notice from City of Chilliwack on July 7.

The road rehab work will be carried out in four phases, with the first phase bringing single-lane alternating traffic to Ryder Lake and Elk View roads, from July 7 to Aug. 1.

"Traffic will be single-lane alternating traffic from July 7 to July 11, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.," according to the city notice.

Phase 2 will see 24-hour road closures for the paving from July 14 to July 18 on the winding hillside roads.

"A detour will be in effect via Extrom Road/Thornton Road to Promontory Road/Teskey Way," the city notice said.

For access to local properties near the closure, motorists are asked to follow flagger directions.

Phase 3 will see a full road closure July 21 to July 25 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Again the detour will be in effect via Extrom Road/Thornton Road to Promontory Road/Teskey Way.
