Registration for the Princeton Paddle Battle is now open.

Registration is now open for one of the hottest summer sporting events in town.

Hosted by the Princeton Pickleball Association, the fifth annual Princeton Paddle Battle will take place from Friday, Aug. 22 to Sunday, Aug. 24 at Memorial Park. The registration fee is $40 plus $15 per event, which includes men's doubles on Friday, mixed doubles on Saturday and women's doubles on Sunday.

Skill levels for each event include 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0+, with women's and mixed events having an extra skill level of 2.5. Higher skill levels indicate more advanced players and competition. For doubles events, at least one player must be at the correct skill level while the other may be no more than one skill level, 0.5, lower.

The tournament features a round robin of one game to 11, bronze medal matches of one game to 15 and best two out of three gold medal matches to 11. Win by two rules apply to all games.

Four temporary courts will be added to Memorial Park, bringing the total for the tournament to eight courts. Franklin X-40 yellow balls will be used for all matches and paddles must be USA Pickleball Approved.
