High tourism season is at the doorstep of Harrison Hot Springs – and so is the pay parking program that comes with it.
Thursday – May 15 – marked the first day of pay parking for 2025 in the village. Much of the beachfront along Esplanade Avenue and a portion of its neighbouring main corridor, Lillooet Avenue as well as a number of connecting side streets, will be pay to park as of late this week.
This year's parking fee structure has not changed since last year. They are as follows:
Zone 1 (St. Alice Street., Hot Springs Road, Esplanade Avenue and Lillooet Avenue west of Hot Springs Road)
Hour 1: $2
Hour 2: $3
Hour 3: $4
Hour 4: $5
($14 for 4 hours maximum)
Zone 2 (Esplanade Avenue, Streets between Esplanade and Lillooet, including Maple, Chehalis and Spruce)
Hour 1: $2
Hour 2: $3
Hour 3: $4
Hour 4: $5
$20 per day
Pay parking at EV charging stations is in effect through the entire year. However, the rates are increased during pay parking season from $2 per hour to $7 per hour. These stations are located on Esplanade ave. and Maple Street.
Free, 15-minute parking stalls are limited but available along Esplanade Avenue; they are marked by signage.
Those paying for parking may do so using one of 13 parking meters along Esplanade Avenue or the single meters on St. Alice Street or Spruce Street. They may also pay using the Parkedin platform or calling Precise Parklink's payment line at 1-844-533-0925 to register for parking. The Parkedin platform can be accessed online or via mobile app.
Pay parking is in effect each day until Sept. 15, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Proceeds from the pay parking program contribute to maintaining village amenities and the Harrison Lake waterfront. In 2024, the program brought in about $336,000. The draft budget projects the village could receive $350,000 or the coming season. If the pay parking program was not in place, amenity and park maintenance costs would fall to the taxpayers.
Bylaw officers issued 50 tickets for parking violations in the boat launch area. They issued 20 letters to vehicle owners who parked in the same spot for at least 48 hours, which is an issue along Cedar Avenue in particular.
THere is a new, private parking lot opposite the boat launch with the entrance on Lillooet Avenue that is not part of the village's system. While tickets purchased there work for that parking lot, they will not be valid to use anywhere else in the village.
Precise ParkLink manages the village’s pay parking program. Pay parking and invoice inquiries can be directed to 604-235-1380 or by calling 1-866-715-PARK (7275).
