Vote early and vote often for your favourite local businesses in the 2025 Readers' Choice Awards.

Voting has begun for the 2025 Readers’ Choice Awards.

Following a four-week nomination period, the Ashcroft-Cache Creek Journal has officially opened the virtual polls for readers in Ashcroft, Cache Creek, Clinton, Lytton, Spences Bridge, Walhachin, and the surrounding area to vote for their favourite businesses and community groups across dozens of categories.

Martina Dopf, publisher of the Journal, says she is thrilled to bring the contest — which has previously run in the Cariboo — to Ashcroft and the surrounding area for the first time.

"This is such a great opportunity to celebrate the incredible local businesses and organizations that make our region special. With over 70 nominees, I can’t wait to see which businesses rise to the top, and we’re excited to reveal the top three in each category in our July 10 print edition and online."

All residents in the area are welcome to vote — every day of the contest, if they want — for their chosen businesses or organizations by going online to https://www.ashcroftcachecreekjournal.com/ and finding the 2025 Readers’ Choice Awards under the contests tab. Voting opened on Monday, May 26 and will run until June 20.

There are six categories: health, fitness, and beauty; services; food and drink; shopping; recreation; and community. Dopf says votes are already starting to come in from community members who want to recognize the businesses and organizations in the area that go the extra mile and put this region on the map.

Dopf adds that she would like to thank Teck Highland Valley Copper for sponsoring the contest this year. Everyone who votes during the contest will automatically be entered into a random draw with a chance to win one of five $100 gift cards for Safety Mart Foods in Ashcroft.
