Savona Community Association AGM
The Savona Community Association will be holding its AGM on Tuesday, April 22 starting at 6 p.m. at the Savona Community Hall. All residents are invited to attend and hear about what was accomplished last year, as well as the plans going forward.
Membership in the association is only $10 per year (only elected directors need to attend the monthly meetings), and memberships — as well as boat passes — are available for purchase at the AGM; you can also go to the association’s new webpage at savonacommunityassociation.ca.
Board game afternoon
The Ashcroft Literacy Program and the Village of Cache Creek are hosting another board game event at the Cache Creek Community Hall (basement meeting room) on Friday, April 25 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. This fun, free family event will feature games, snacks, refreshments, and door prizes, and all are welcome (children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult).
Savona pancake breakfast
The Savona Area Seniors’ Society is holding a pancake breakfast on Saturday, April 26 from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Savona Seniors’ Centre. The cost is $15 per person (children 6 and under free), and breakfast includes pancakes, eggs, sausages, bacon, coffee, and juice; there will also be a raffle.

70 Mile spring craft fair

Savona spring tea
The Savona Heritage Committee is hosting its annual spring tea and luncheon on Sunday, April 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Savona Heritage Museum (6640 Tingley Street). Admission is by donation, and all are invited to enjoy tea or lunch at the museum and check out what’s new there.
Bingo
Join the Cache Creek Recreation Society for bingo action at the Cache Creek Community Hall on Monday, April 28 starting at 6 p.m.
Cache Creek market
The Cache Creek Market will be returning for its 15th season on Saturday, May 3. Located next to the Cache Creek Library, the market will be open every Saturday until October from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and feature plants, produce, food items, handcrafted items, textiles, gently-used treasures, and more.
The cost for vendors is $5 per site, with funds raised going to the Cache Creek Beautification Society. Vendors do not need a business licence or insurance, but anyone selling homemade food should have a FoodSafe certificate. Local non-profits are allowed one free site per month. Clinton market

Emergency first aid course
The Ashcroft HUB is planning to hold an Emergency First Aid with CPR-C course on Friday, May 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The cost is $150 per person, and a minimum of 10 people are needed in order for the course to run; participants must be 16 or older. Ladies’ Night at the HUB

Ashcroft Farmers’ Market
The Ashcroft Farmers’ Market starts its third season on Sunday, May 11, with vendors on Railway Avenue at the Heritage Park from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Sunday through Oct. 12. The market will feature fresh local produce and homemade food as well as hand-crafted gifts, artwork, crafts, and more.

WorkBC is hosting a Career and Education Fair at the Ashcroft HUB from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, May 23. The free event allows jobseekers of all ages to connect with employers and learn about free employment services, training programs, and other community services; there will also be door prizes.
