Maple Ridge food bank auctioning tickets to The Weeknd concert

Friends in Need Food Bank now serving more than 3,000 people

Maple Ridge's food bank has a fundraiser that will auction two tickets to global superstar The Weeknd, who is coming to BC Place for the After Hours Til Dawn tour.

The concert on Wednesday, July 16 will also see opener Playboi Carti.

The silent auction is happening online, but it will close at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, July 13.

The highest bid wins the tickets, which are in the lower bowl and have a face value of $650. All bids can be placed online at www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/133815

The Weeknd is a Canadian pop and R&B singer-songwriter who has four Grammy Awards, 22 Junos, and many more awards. His hits include "Blinding Lights," "Save Your Tears," "Starboy," and "Can't Feel My Face."

All of the proceeds will benefit the Friends in Need Food Bank, which has an increasing demand for its services as food costs rise, and is now serving more than 3,000 people who need assistance.

The concert tickets were donated by PavCo through the BC Place Community Benefit Program.
